The idea for CambridgeYAHDS came from a visit to Warrensburg, New York, where, for three days every year, everyone and their cousin open their garage doors for the World's Largest Garage Sale.
We figured, why not try something like that here in Cambridge. Of course, garages are a bit harder to come by around here — and truthfully, yards can be scarce too — but Yahds just seemed so apt.
Whether you've got a sprawling front yard, a driveway, a front stoop, or just a folding table on the sidewalk, you're welcome to join in.
We held our first Cambridge Yahd Sale Day on June 6, 2026, and it was a great success! Not just because of all the commerce, but because so many people met their neighbors! It was a very communal day, and a lot of fun for everyone. We look forward to hosting another one next year, if not sooner, maybe focused on another section of Cambridge since the last one was predominantly in Cambridgeport.
